Q: When did you decide to become a photographer?
A:  I never really thought about becoming an “official”one,I just love to take pictures. When i was little, running around taking pictures with my Polaroid…I fell in love . My camera has always been my shadow.I just have a huge passion for taking pictures and capturing special moments.Thank you to my husband who pushed me and gave me the confidence to show my photos off,do art shows, and make a website.

Q: What does photography mean to you?
A:for me its always an amazing and inspiring journey. Candy for the eyes, hehe! It’s a huge passion!  its not about the technical perfection ,its about capturing a moment that connects us with each other.Taking the extraordinary out of the ordinary.Making people feel good about themselves and putting a smile on their face.

Q: Do you have any formal training regarding photography?
A: No, I have never taken any classes or anything. I like to experiment on my own. Photography isn’t a “job” to me,It’s something i LOVE to do and makes me extremely happy.

Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: To me,its not what kind of camera, its how you use it.its about knowing when and how to shoot and going with your eye and your gut. Most of my photos are with a point and shoot camera. Now I have a DSLR canon. Yaaaaaaaaaay!

Q: How do you feel about cropping?
A: Fine. You may want something out of the picture that you may or may not have noticed before that could be distracting.I don’t normally do it though.

Q: Define the word “beauty”!
A: It’s in the eye of the beholder

Q: How does your personality change when you look through the camera?
A: I feel good and I feel proud of myself.I look at the world and appreciate it more.I have more confidence.

Q: Ever concerned about failure?
A: of course!

Q: What inspires you?
A: LIFE, love, nature, music, dreams etc…

Q: What are the biggest personal or professional challenges you face on a daily basis?
A: my health.

Q: Have you ever thought about or actually stopped doing photography? What were the circumstances?
A: never!

Q: What types of assignments are you attracted most?
A:I’m up for anything. I love weddings,animals,nature,people,candid etc etc…

Q: Describe what black and white photography means to you?
A: classic and or romance.some photos are just meant to be seen in B&W

Q: Do you think of yourself as an artist and what do you think of the word artist?
A: I think everyone has a little artist in them.

Q: How do you describe your photographic style?
A: All sorts of styles…realistic (not a lot of editing),meaningful, soft sometimes edgy, wierd angles and beyond!

Q: What has been the most surprising or most predictable reaction to your photographs?
A: a lot of people comment mostly on the colors i have in the photographs and how they “pop”.Especially my macro pieces and all the detail.  I love details.

Q: Tell a little secret about yourself that no-one knows …
A: Hmmm…some people don’t know that my husbands and my real first pet was a pig named sassy lashes and she even had her own bedroom. Not a “secret” anymore.

Q: How do you feel about digital manipulation and to what extent do you utilize it?
A: I’m really big on the natural look. Sometimes i have to lighten or darken up a photo but, that’s the extent.Plus i really have no idea on how to use photoshop. Don’t get me wrong, I have seen some incredible photographs really photoshopped well. Like making someone into a fairy and superimposing them into a magical forest. It’s a talent and very hard to do. I’d love to learn how.  To me,it turns more into a painting than a “photograph”.Still a work of art  :)

Q: What other thoughts would you like to share?
A: I just wanted to thank everyone for the great compliments on my photo’s and my husband Chris for all of his support! Also,if you like rock industrial music, please check out my husbands band Streak at www.streakband.net .you will find my photos of the band there.
